DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  • Substrate:  The substrate must be clean, dry and free from contamination; existing coatings must be removed by stripping or sanding.
  • Wood moisture content should be 20% or less.
  • It is recommended that a sample of the substrate is coated to establish both absorbtion properties and possible colour change.

  • Application:  Generally 3 coats depending on applicator and climatic conditions, coats should be applied at intervals of minimum 1 hour giving a total coverage of minimum 300g/m2 (270 ml / m2) . Do not mix with other solutions, stir well. Use brush, roller, spray (use appropriate mask when spraying), dip, or vacuum method. Application and coverage may depend on a number of factors, including timber species, surface condition, moisture content, method of application and climatic conditions during application.
  • Minimum temperature for application 5 degrees C do not apply to frozen substrate.
  • Over-coating: Where a final decorative finish is required, substrate must be dry before over-coating, we advise checking the moisture content of the substrate prior to application and applying top coat to manufacturers instructions. A small area of the substrate should be tested for compatibility before the full final coat is applied.
  • Coverage: To acheive Euro-class B-s1-d0 (equivalentnto UK Class O), 270 ml / m2.
  • Quantity calculation for square metre coverage: 3.7 m2 per litre of HR Prof
  • Drying Times: Drying time 24 hours at + 20C/65 relative humidity.  Maximum fire retarding capabilities will be achieved after 7 days.
  •  Note: Drying times are dependent upon absorption of substrate and drying conditions. At low temperatures and/or conditions of high relative humidity, drying times will be extended.

  • Storage and Transportation: HR-Prof is supplied in sealed containers and should be stored at temperatures above zero.  The warranty period of storage is 36 months.

  • Health & Safety – During Application avoid contact with open wounds, eyes and mouth. In the event of accidental contact; wash the affected area immediately with clean water. Safety goggles and gloves should be worn when handling and applying the material.  Adequate ventilation required when spraying.

  • Do not swallow.  In case of allergic reaction consult a doctor.

  • Water based product, which does not present a health hazard under normal industrial use.

  • Maintenance Period: No maintenance is required once HR Prof has been absorbed into the substrate and dried.

  • Disposal: Not harmful to the environment but should be disposed of in the correct manner according to European Directive 90/689/EC.
